When is the best time to go to Spiti Valley?

Spiti is accessible from two sides – Shimla or Manali – and each option is exciting and enjoyable. Manali to Spiti the road passes over two major mountain passes Rohtang and Kunzum la so it is reliably open from May to October though exact opening dates depend on road clearing from the Border Roads Organization. The route from Shimla is open year round.
